Google has made Gemini Daily Brief available for free to users in the USA. As of September 9, 2026, a subscription to Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra is no longer required to use the morning briefing.
What is Gemini Daily Brief
This feature was introduced in May at the I/O 2026 conference. Daily Brief utilizes Personal Intelligence from Gemini and scans Gmail, Google Calendar, connected apps, and past Gemini chats. The result is a personalized morning summary that prepares users for the upcoming day.
How the Feature Works
Users can check off completed tasks, start a Gemini chat for individual items, or rate whether the suggestion was helpful. Gemini Live reads the summary upon the command "What's my daily brief?" Google also sends morning notifications, which can be turned off in settings.
According to 9to5google.com, the summary includes three sections:
- "Top of mind" for urgent tasks
- "FYI" for items with dates
- "Looking ahead" for long-term goals and next steps
Gemini Daily Brief Free: Access Conditions
Free usage is currently available only in the USA and is being rolled out gradually. Users must have a personal Google account with Personal Intelligence, Memory, and Google Workspace integration enabled. According to tbreak.com, users must be over 18 years old and located in the USA.
Daily Brief is available in the Gemini mobile apps and the web version.
Future Plans
Google, according to tbreak.com, plans to expand the feature to other countries and languages. The announcement regarding the cancellation of the subscription was posted on the X network, and the support page was updated to remove mentions of the subscription as a mandatory condition, as reported by androidauthority.com.
